After you have selected or even inherited that special piece of jewelry, you will want to have it appraised for insurance purposes.

Here at Jay F. Jeweler, all of our appraisals are done by our in house appraiser.  Our appraiser is an AGS registered jeweler.

We do ask if you have any original paperwork with exact stone weights on them, to bring those with you because we do not unmount anything while we have it in for appraising.

A few key items included in our appraisals:

• Picture of Piece

• Type of Mounting

• Weight of the Piece

• Type of Metal

• Cut, Clarity and Carat weight of diamond(s) and other gemstone(s)

• Manufacturer name, manufacturer style number, serial number (if available)

• Current retail replacement
